Shaquille O’Neal is one of the great names in basketball history. He won four NBA championships, and today he is just as well known as an analyst on Inside the NBA. Off the court, he lives large: mansions, luxury cars and private flights. When Shaq needs to be somewhere, he can simply charter a jet. Here is a look at the private jets Shaq flies.
Does Shaq have a private jet?
Shaq flies private often, but he does not own a jet. He charters instead, and the aircraft he chooses are anything but small. At 7 feet 1 inch, he needs a cabin with room to move, and space for his team and family. The Challenger 300 is among his favorites to fly.

The Challenger 300 is a super-midsize jet that typically seats eight or nine passengers, with two pilots up front. It has a top speed of about 550 mph and can fly for around seven hours without refueling. Its maximum altitude is 45,000 feet. Bombardier built it until 2014, when the Challenger 350 replaced it. The cabin is comfortable, flexible and elegantly finished.

An awkward moment with Shaq’s private jet
Shaq has a big personality. Formerly a dominant center, he has become one of the funniest figures on television. As a self-styled comedian, he likes a joke, and some of his stories do not hold up. One of them involved a private jet he once posted a picture of, customized with the face and name of Shaunie, now his ex-wife. She later set the record straight in public.
In a since-deleted tweet, O’Neal shared an image of a private jet. The plane stood out because the face of his ex-wife, Shaunie O’Neal, could be seen on its tail, and her name was painted in large black letters on the aircraft.
Fans were impressed. Many assumed he had given the jet to his wife as a gift, and it seemed plausible for a man whose fortune is estimated at several hundred million dollars. But it was not true.
Shaunie O’Neal later revealed that the plane was not real. She said the image was fake. It was an embarrassing moment for Shaq. The Lakers legend deleted the tweet, but not before it had gone viral.
